Without the Nikon 24mm/f1.4 I wouldn't have been able to capture this.
It was late evening. These monks from this monastery in Mandalay, Myanmar gathered to say their prayers before the meditation session. It was getting quite dark. I had to shoot wide open, increased the ISO to 6400 and still only achieved a shutter speed of 1/5s. Thank goodness I still have quite steady hands. Another friend who was with me grumbled that he couldn't capture anything despite having the D3 and the 17-35mm/2.8. I can now say that the 24mm is worth every cent that I paid for it.
Discipline
Here are a few more shots from the 24mm/f1.4 that are worth looking at. Hope you love these too. Click for larger view.

very poison ya… Dr Teh…
Nothing but the truth!
I bought the 24 f1.4 after seeing your photos Doc.
You really ought to ask Nikon for referral fee or commission…
Hi BK,
Welcome to the 24mm club! I hope Nikon is reading this…if they do offer any commission that would be nice.
I'm also thinking of getting a 24mm f1.4, but it's just so pricey. I think your photos is a good push for me to get it. Thank you!
Danny, if you do get one, you would be the 4th person to buy because of me! If only Nikon gives me commission…..
Have fun with the lens!
Hi Dr. Teh.
Always feel good looking at your work. Very inspirational. No adjectives could describe my feeling(s) towards the images…..just get myself immerse in them all the time.
Thanks so much Gerard! It is such encouragement that inspires me to try to shoot more compelling images and to share with the community. Your just made my day.
