What the Nikon 24mm/1.4 can do

Without the Nikon 24mm/f1.4 I wouldn't have been able to capture this.

It was late evening. These monks from this monastery in Mandalay, Myanmar gathered to say their prayers before the meditation session. It was getting quite dark. I had to shoot wide open, increased the ISO to 6400 and still only achieved a shutter speed of 1/5s. Thank goodness I still have quite steady hands. Another friend who was with me grumbled that he couldn't capture anything despite having the D3 and the 17-35mm/2.8. I can now say that the 24mm is worth every cent that I paid for it. :-D

Discipline

Here are a few more shots from the 24mm/f1.4 that are worth looking at. Hope you love these too. Click for larger view.
