Hanoi-Bac Ha-Sapa Photosafari April 6th-12th, 2012

It is the time of the year again when I start to do my travel photography. Northern Vietnam, specifically the Hanoi-Bac Ha-Sapa route is one of the places I would strongly recommend to photographers...there are plenty of shooting opportunities! The best time to go is during the April-May months. For this photosafari we will be there from April 6th to 12th. Notice that we have to go on a Friday where we will arrive at Hanoi, take the night train to Lao Cai (the last station up north - arrive on Saturday morning) and then proceed by bus to Bac Ha town. We will have street shoot and stay there for the night in preparation the shoot of the once-a-week Sunday market there.

Below is the tentative itinerary. There will be changes/additions to make this photosafari more interesting and fruitful.

Day 1. KUL – HANOI – LAO CAI (Friday 6th April, 2012) (Lunch, Dinner)

A busy junction in Hanoi - you will be amazed by how the traffic manages to flow in Hanoi.

Free and easy.

Check-in hotel (02 twin-shared rooms for freshening up), dinner and proceed to train station.

Day 2. LAO CAI – BAC HA (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

At the border between Vietnam (right of bridge) and China (left of bridge).

Arrival at Lao Cai Station, breakfast, proceed to Bac Ha by 16-seater-bus.

Check-in Sao Mai Hotel @ Bac Ha Town (2-star-hotel, twin-shared rooms at new
wings area. This is one of biggest hotels in Bac Ha town with free wifi. Being a small town don’t expect too much though.).

Dinner, O/N @ hotel. (Note: the Sunday Market will be next to our hotel.)

Talk on Post-processing preparations - my style
