It has been a hectic few weeks for me – was in Vietnam followed by Singapore – hence the lack of new posts lately. This doesn't mean that I have been idle. In fact I have been going through my shots taken in Vietnam. Boy am I pleased with the results!
Many of you [...]
I seldom blog about my opinion on any cameras. However I must share with you my impression of the Fuji X-Pro1 simply because my search for a lighter, more compact camera has finally ended. Will this replace my ever-trustworthy Nikon D3? Unlikely. Will I use it for some serious work? You [...]
It was Red the last time. This time it is Yellow.
This was taken at an abandoned bungalow in Kuala Lumpur during my one-on-one workshop with Lin Tun of Myanmar. I had to shoot wide open and increased the ISO to get a decent shutter speed. Taken with Nikon 17-35mm Aperture Priority @ [...]
Playing with children is my forte given the training that I have gone through. This is the same child I met in Chengdu, China when I was there last year. He was a bit apprehensive when we first met and I soon got him to open up.
Taken at f/1.4 with my Nikon 24mm [...]
This is another shot of the same two monks but this time it was taken at Ta Prohm, the temple ruins in Siem Reap made famous by the shooting of Tomb Raider starring Angelina Jolie a few years ago (the previous shot posted on January 13th was taken at Preah Khan).
Taken [...]
This shot was taken during my teaching photo-safari to Siem Reap late last year. We were on our way out to Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia, when we passed through this fishing village. What a great place for my type of street portraiture!
Taken with the Nikon D3 + [...]
I have received comments that Farinaz Banoo Motiei reminded one of Elizabeth Taylor. I will let you be the judge.
Here is another shot of her.
Aperture Priority @ f/3.2 1/160s ISO400

This shot of Natacha Meunier was taken during my August workshop with Burke Strickland, a very keen photography hobbyist from Texas. When you have a great & gorgeous model, a good background and beautiful side-lighting (and of course, a patient participant), that to me is a formula for a potential good shot. Hope this [...]
I have so many files to process that I almost do not know where to start. And I have files since March that I have not finished processing!
Well, I have to start somewhere as these files begged to be processed. For a start here is one of Kharunisia Jazmin taken during the [...]
This is another shot of Cay Kuijpers at the same sitting as the one shared here previously. I like how the leaves and shawls framed her face.
Shot with Nikon D3 + Nikon 24-70mm/2.8 Aperture Priority @ f/2.8 1/80s ISO200.
